Description
While some may mistake "Memory" for a Hinckley Pilot 35, discerning yachtsmen will recognize that she is in fact a one of kind Hinckley factory built 1968 Hinckley Competition 34. While her looks above the water may be that of a pilot, her sailing capabilities far exceed, with her tall mast, full keel and spade rudder. "Memory" is an extremely rare Hinckley that has been kept in exceptional condition and is ready to take her new owner places in comfort and style. Memory could be raced with great success or cruised extensively, the options are endless. Set up your showing before the opportunity to own a beautiful piece of Hinckley history is gone.
Topsides: White Awlgrip, excellent condition.
Spars/running rigging: All of her spars are painted white Awlgrip. Her boom is carbon fibre, new in 2017. Deck mounted spinnaker pole. 3 winches on the mast with the main halyard winch being two speed, self tailing. The mainsheet is lead to a dedicated 2 speed winch under the dodger.
Canvas: Custom dodger and bimini with connecting sections in good condition.
Sails: Her main is fully battened and loose footed with 2 deep reefs and associated gear. Reefs are controlled through the boom. Harken roller bearing traveler mounted on the cabin top. Traveller is controlled by two lines, port and starboard which lead to cleats under the dodger. The working jib was cut by North Sailmakers with full length battens and is trimmed to blocks on the cabin top and lead to 2 speed, self tailing cockpit winches.
Other sails: Sails include a #1 and #2 genoa. Genoa sheets are controlled by a large winch in the aft cockpit. There is also a spinnaker complete with launching sock for short handed and easy deployment and retrieval.
Ground tackle: Bow mounted Rockna anchor, with anchor rhode of chain and braided line. Deck mounted electric powered windlass. Additional 22# Danforth anchor stored on the cabin top.
Engine: 1998 Universal diesel with 1944 hours and has been professionally serviced annually
Interior: New composting head installed in 2018. Propane stove with oven on gimbles with propane stored in dual tanks in the lazarette. Forward cabin is a V-berth with separate section which fills in the V to make a large bed. Foldable table which stores against the forward bulkhead
in the main cabin. 2 pilot berths plus 2 transom berths for a total of 6 berths.
Capacity for 70 gallons of water and 20 gallons of fuel
Electronics: 2018 Garmin chart plotter mounted on cockpit bulkhead next to depth and speed gauges. Below there is an AM-FM stereo sound system, and a VHF marine radio coupled to a
hand-held controller located in the cockpit.
