1971 Custom Venetian Watertaxi

Beautiful restored 1971 Venetian Watertaxi. Purchased in Venice, Italy in 2022.

She has brandnew (mahogany) engine bearers, cockpit frames, rubbingstrikes (with new 316 stainless steel strips) and a brandnew solid keel frame.  

She once belonged to the Ca' Foscolo Residence at the Campo de la Fava 5525 in Venice. I had to restore her with great respect for the legacy of the last century. 

A Venetian water taxi is one of the most admired boats in the world. Masterpieces from an era in which traditional handcrafting was the standard. It is said that about 500 of them are left worldwide. 

This particular collectors item was built mr. Dino Celli at the ‘Cantiere Celli’ shipyard. Dino, master in boatbuilding and born and raised in Venice, hails from a lineage of skilled craftsmen in boatbuilding. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Dino acquired a profound passion for boatbuilding at a young age. He dedicating himself to mastering the intricate techniques required to create the iconic Gondola’s. His water taxis became renowned for their sleek design and quality construction.His designs seamlessly blended timeless elegance with modern functionality and his commitment to preserving the essence of Venetian craftsmanship earned him international recognition and admiration. He left an indelible mark on Venetian maritime heritage. And his vessels became sought-after symbols of Venetian maritime excellence, appreciated for their superior construction and refined aesthetics.

Note: she currently has no engine but we can supply and install any desired engine in collaboration with several US based specialists.
