A Sailing Magazine review noted that C&C produced boats aimed at both speed and comfort. Known for quality construction and great performance, the deck and cabin layout are well thought out. The 4’ shoal draft allows safe access to shallow anchorages while the centerboard lets it flourish in a brisk wind and point upwind like a champ.
While rigged for easy single handing with a Doyle Stack-Pack main, roller furling genoa, Auto-helm and self-tailing winches, the roomy cockpit is comfortable for 4 to 6.
Below decks the dinette arrangement always allows easy passage through the main cabin. With lots of storage, pressure water, a well-insulated ice box and a Dirigo alcohol stove/oven, this boat has taken me and my crew in comfort on summer cruises of up to 5 weeks from Buzzards Bay north to Acadia and south to Long Island sound. Originally designed to sleep six, I found that up to 4 are very comfortable on a multi-day cruise.
The dependable13 horse Yanmar diesel engine has easy access, will easily produce 6 knots and has been well maintained. A 21 year maintenance log, all user manuals and equipment invoices are available for inspection.
