Tantara is a spacious center cockpit ketch featuring a four stateroom, three head layout, which is ideal for a large family or charter business.
The ketch rig offers a versatile sail plan with newer main and mizzen sails, and roller furling genoa. The 135hp diesel Perkins provides plenty of power when needed and has low hours since refurbished in 2022
The interior was designed for cruising in comfort with a spacious salon, enormous master suite with off set queen berth and ensuite head with shower plus three additional cabins and two more heads, great access to the main engine, a fully equipped galley with efficient top loading fridge and separate freezer, tons of storage, huge water and fuel tank capacity, watermaker, generator. Interior Layout & Features
This Irwin 52 features a four stateroom, three head layout.
Beginning forward, there is a private guest cabin with a large double V-berth, hanging locker and storage drawers. A spacious head compartment is located just aft on the starboard side with a stall shower.
Opposite this head to port is another private cabin with double berth and ensuite head forward.
Continuing aft and one step up leads to the large, comfortably furnished salon. The salon offers great storage behind settees and under. Additional lockers are located port and starboard and plenty of headroom and is ideal for entertaining.
The navigation station is located aft and to port in the salon. It is fitted with an aft facing chart table, chair, navigation equipment, and additional lockers.
Just aft of the navigation station on the port side is the third guest cabin which features two stacked single bunks, storage lockers and hanging locker. Also access the aft shower.
The companionway is centerline, between the nav station and the galley.
The galley is located one step down from the salon on the starboard side. A bar-type counter separates the salon from the galley. A vent-less combination washer/dryer is fitted on the inboard cabinet in the galley.
The large master cabin is located aft and features a Offset to stbd queen berth, numerous lockers, drawers, hanging locker and an ensuite head with separate shower stall to port.
The interior is duct ed, wired and plumbed for three central air conditioning units.

Galley
The spacious galley is located to starboard of the companionway. It offers great storage and counter space as well as being well-equipped. The large deep double sink drains overboard. There is also a SS 4-burner propane stove/oven with a microwave/convection oven located above. A built-in refrigerator and separate freezer provides a generous amount of cold storage. Lastly, a vent-less washer/dryer is located on the inboard cabinet in the galley. Since the galley also serves as the walk-through to the aft master cabin, the location of the washer/dryer is very convenient.

Electrical
The generator is located under the salon floor boards forward of the main engine. Controls for start/stop and the gauges are located in the control cabinet on the port side of the stairs between the salon and galley.
There are 3 different voltage systems on this vessel: 12 Volt System., 230 Volt System and 120 Volt AC House System.
The engine and generator each have their own dedicated 12V starting battery located in the engine room. They are charged by the alternators in the engine and the generator.
This vessel is powered from either shore power connections or from the onboard generator with a single 100 amp 230V connection to the main distribution panel at the nav station.

2022 Updates done
Over the course of 2022 the boat has undergone a major refurbishment project, incorporating the following:
Main engine and gearbox removed, serviced and repainted
Generator serviced
New batteries for house supply, main engine and generator installed
Refrigeration fully serviced
New caprail installed
Full repaint of hull, deck, cockpit, masts and booms
Internal and external woodwork fully revarnished
New portlights installed
Existing hatches removed, fully serviced, repainted and re-installed
Sails fully serviced and cleaned - new sail covers added
New bimini/dodger installed
New internal soft furnishings (sofas and mattresses) made and installed
Added new and upgraded existing lights to LED
In April-May 2022 we had all hatches removed, fully serviced and repainted before re-installing. We also installed new portlights throughout.
Over a series of months we had all of the internal and external woodwork revarnished.
In August 2022 we completed a full re-paint of the hull, deck, cockpit, masts and booms at the shipyard in Langkawi.
In October 2022 we installed the fully serviced and cleaned sails, together with brand new sail covers. We also had new halyards made and put up.
In October 2022 we had new sofas and mattresses made and installed throughout.
