1984 Santana 30-30 sailboat.
Que Pasa, a meticulously cared-for 1984 Santana 30-30, is for sale. The boat has only sailed the fresh water of Flathead Lake. Slip #16 at Dayton Yacht Harbor is reserved for the new owner. This is essentially a new boat offering good racing and comfortable cruising.
Que Pasa, hull number 37 of approximately 40 GP models produced, displaces 6,500 lb. with 2,310 lb. of ballast and has a PHRF racing handicap of 141. It includes upgrades such as a Garhauer solid vang, single line reefing systems, and jib roller furling. The Santana 30/30 was designed by Bruce Nelson and Bruce Marek, to the Midget Ocean Racing Club (MORC) concept which it dominated for a number of years. Built by W. D. Schock Corp in Corona, California, it is a masthead sloop rig with a raked stem, a raised reverse transom, and a fixed fin keel.
Que Pasa has North Nordak sails with Harken roller furling for jibs (100 and 150). The Tides Marine Strong Track mast sail track makes handling the main sail a snap. It features both symmetrical spinnaker and asymmetrical gennaker setups with launching bags and socks. A deck-mounted retractable bow sprit has an internal tack line that is led to the cockpit. The deck layout of Lewmar rope clutches, dual-speed winches and all lines led to the cockpit are perfect for racing.
Below deck Que Pasa offers comfort that compliments its sailing qualities. Sleeping accommodations include a forward "V"-berth, two quarter berths and separate dinette settees. The enclosed head is forward and flushes into a holding tank. The galley features a natural gas stove/oven, sink, and icebox, perfect for extended voyages. The navigation table is opposite the galley.
Regular maintenance of the Volvo MD7a diesel engine keeps it starting quickly and running smoothly. The insulated engine compartment, clean bilge, and spotless fresh water tank reflect the quality of upkeep. Que Pasa’s hull has epoxy barrier coating with VC-17 anti-fouling paint. Other features include Ray Marine i40 Bidata and i60 Wind instruments, a mast ladder, safety harnesses, and a vented Sunbrella winter cover spanning waterline to waterline.
The winter storage cradle has ten adjustable pads and six leveling feet to hold the boat with no pressure points during the off-season. The cradle can be set on a flat bed truck or trailer for transporting the boat.
While 3030s were designed for racing Que Pasa has not been raced or abused. It would be difficult to find a boat in this condition with these features that is ready to sail. We can arrange a sail for interested buyers.
