Description
This Robert Perry-designed classic has proven very popular amongst the cruising set (see attached review from the website Blue Water Boats), and with over 600 built since 1975 (and with it still listed as a current model on Tayana's website, it's possible to have a new one built today!) Tayana 37s are seen literally all around the world.
Practical Sailor notes that the Tayana 37 is "one of the most successful of the Taiwan built boats. Her shapely Baltic stern, plank seams molded into the glass hull and lavish use of teak above and below deck have come to epitomize the image that immediately comes to mind when Taiwanese boats are mentioned, and Good Old Boat magazine goes on to say that the Tayana 37 is “saucy, comfy and efficient, as well as the perfect passagemaker".
Justifiably, this Robert Perry-designed classic has proven very popular amongst the cruising set and with over 600 built since 1975 Tayana 37s are seen literally all around the world.
This particular later-model example has had only four owners since new and is one of the finest examples of a Tayana 37 that we've ever seen--maintenance logs going back to Day 1 come with the boat (actually, the records go back further than that: they include color photos of the boat being built!) the Perkins 4-108 diesel runs like a top and the interior shows beautifully (note the off-white leather settees), plus updated sails and rigging, electronics, windlass, bowsprit, fuel tank, etc etc etc.
Note aluminum epoxy painted mast and NO TEAK DECKS (one of the few Tayana 37s ordered that way from the factory!), brightwork shows very nicely, fully enclosed cockpit, fully functional Monitor windvane.
The pictures don't do her justice and she's a must-see for anyone in the market for a bluewater capable classic...

Accommodations
Very large double berth with hanging locker forward, full head with stall shower slightly aft to port with hanging locker across. Continue aft to salon with U-shaped settee with drop leaf convertible dinette port, straight settee opposite, settees done in tasteful leather and there's a large, opening Bomar overhead clear hatch for plenty of light and air!
Nav table and quarter berth far aft port side, centerline companionway and galley starboard.
Note the Tayana 37 is very spacious down below with 6'5 headroom and beam carried almost entire length of the vessel. Also note interior is finely fitted out in lovely solid teak. Newer boats today have far less teak because of the prohibitive cost (both material AND labor) entailed in doing fine joinerwork.
Galley
Deep twin stainless steel sinks with hot/cold pressure water (8 gal. hot water heater, engine or AC fired) and manual pumps for fresh and salt water, large, well insulated ice box with Adler-Barbour cold plate 12V refrigeration system (2002), stainless steel Hillerange gimballed three burner propane stove with oven!
Electrical
110V AC / 12V DC. Thirty amp shorepower service with Xantrex 40 amp smart battery charger and Heart Interface Link 20 battery monitor and Balmar high output alternator with ARS IV regulator, two Trojan deep cycle house batteries (450 total amp hours, new in November 2018), two Group 27 dedicated start batteries..
