Vellamo is one of the finest Nauticat 38's in existence. She has been lovingly kept and continuously upgraded by her past 4 owners.
The short list of improvements include; NEW Furuno Radar, Chartplotter, AIS, NEW Victron Energy Inverter/ Charger, hull and house LPU painted, MSC custom transom extension & swimstep, newer Diamond Seaglaze tinted glass windows, newer upholstery, newer Halsey/Lidgard sails, Harken deck hardware, dinghy davits, Raymarine color radar & Garmin chartplotter. Newer Autopilot, depth meter, wind instruments, outside helm instruments, newer genoa, New battery bank, Espar heat, Max-Prop.... This list goes on and on - you will not find a better equipped / modernized Nauticat 38 unless you buy brand new!
The Nauticat 38 is a wonderful pilothouse sailboat. With her fin keel and tall rig she sails great! The commanding raised pilothouse provides clear visibility all around and floods the interior with light. Four season cruising is entirely comfortable with the Espar forced air diesel furnace. The Nauticat 38 may be the ideal Inside Passage & Great Circle cruising sailboat. She only burns 1.4-1.6 gallons per hour while cruising at 7.2 knots and sails great.
Vellamo is in fabulous condition, has all the gear and is ready to go the distance.
