1988 Custom Interlake 18 Sailboat

Now on to the description...

This 1988 Interlake 18' was built in Sandusky, OH primarily for racing on the Sandusky Bay. A very fast daysailer.

The entire deck on the boat was professionally replaced by the Weatherly Boat Works in Port Clinton, OH in 2019 and is in beautiful shape. Hull has recently been repainted as well.

The centerboard trunk was also cut down to make it easier to transition from side to side while sailing.

New bails were installed in the bottom to make water drainage easier after sailing.

All of the foam floatation along the sides was also replaced during the restoration. No waterlogged foam.

Deck hardware was all replaced. All new running rigging.

The sails are in serviceable shape. Main could use a bit of repair but it's still usable and has some life left in it before new sails will be required. The jib is in good shape.

The boat includes the mooring cover shown in the photo. Mooring cover was new in 2023. Also included is a mainsail cover which was new in 2022.

The boat also includes a 2021 Suzuki 2.5HP 4-stroke outboard so you don't have to paddle out to go sailing. Motor is not currently mounted on the boat.

Also included is a custom trailer for the boat for getting it to your sailing destination.

One person can put the mast up and get it ready for sailing, although it's a bit easier with two or 3 people. You can trailer the boat to your destination or dock it for the season.

I have an AirDock floating dock available as well if you don't want to put up the mast and rig the boat every time you go out. The boat is not intended to be docked in the water for extended periods as the bottom has not been painted for that.

It's a really fun boat if you like sailing singlehanded or with one crew member. Sails well in light winds and is best used in inland lakes or bays that are somewhat protected.

The boat is also rigged for a spinnaker although I do not have one. I have some spare parts including an additional mast and boom from another previously scrapped Interlake that are also available.
