Price of boat includes a dive charter business
This 1998 Island Hopper is the basis for a successful dive charter business. It was custom made for the current owner and has contributed every year to the success of the business. The owner is ready to retire after 37 years in the dive charter business and is selling the compressor, nitrox membrane, rental equipment, website, facebook page with 30,000 followers, mailing list, and all the dive site locations. He will train the buyer.
The Island Hopper 30 was originally developed over 3-1/2 decades ago to fill the need for a small, versatile, commercial grade vessel with strength, durability and a long working life that could be bought for, and maintained at, a reasonable cost. Today it remains as true to those original goals as the day the first Island Hopper was built.
Individually built to order using quality commercial grade components, entirely hand-laid including a solid fiberglass hull with no coring, rugged durability and long life are the trademarks of Island Hoppers everywhere.
Over the years Island Hoppers have developed a devout following far beyond what the original developer foresaw. Fishing captains depend on Island Hoppers worldwide and the same is true for the dive, parasail, ferry and numerous other water-oriented businesses. With literally hundreds of Island Hoppers in service worldwide it has established itself as one of the premier workboats in use today.
A strong, durable, dependable boat that is economical to own and operate and whose working life is measured not in years, but decades.
The Standard Island Hopper 30 is a wide beam vessel that provides the performance, stability, and ride sought by boaters everywhere. The Island Hopper 30 offers a 12-foot beam for unmatched stability and comfort while trolling or at anchor. She planes out quickly, providing fast speed and economical operating costs. Hull design has a deep-V entry forward changing to a flat three-degree deadrise aft. Double-wide chines and a self-bailing deck are also strong points. Beam at widest point is 12 feet 4 inches. Freeboard is 58 inches at the bow, 40 inches at the transom. Draft is 26 inches. Hull construction is of hand-laminated glass, woven roving of eight to 18 laminations resulting in a one- to two-inch layer in the bottom of the hull. All critical points such as chines, bow, and keel are strengthened with extra layers of glass, and the bottom is stiffened with four longitudinal stringers. Two 100-gallon fuel tanks provide long range cruising.
