1998 Wellcraft 31 Scarab Thunder

Ready for a new owner is this gorgeous 1998 31 Wellcraft Scarab with a one of a kind smoked windshield which makes this Scarab one of the best looking ones ever built.                                                                                                                                                                          

11 year owner and always garage kept w/ 734 hull hrs you will not find a nicer Scarab anywhere...Powered by Twin Mercruiser fuel injected 540’s built in 2017 by Smith Performance and Marine in Chesapeake, Va with the help of J2 Race Engines also in Chesapeake who handled all the machine work, Pisarik Performance in Suffolk, Va who handled the extensive port work to heads and intakes, TPIS who modified the throttle bodies to 68 MM and Bob Madera @ Marine Kinetics in Rochester, NY. who handled the custom ground hyd roller camshafts and lifters.  Engines were dynoed and tuned on 89 pump gas at Precision Marine in Kenner, LA by legendary shop owner Mark Boos, making a respectable 609 Hp @ 5,200 rpm and 680 Lbs Tq @ 3,900 rpm and have 175 hrs on them...Both engines received 540 rotating assembles w/JE Pistons yielding 9 to 1 compression, Engine Quest cast iron heads, loaded with Manley stainless valves, Isky Roller Springs, Titanium Retainers and Scorpion Blue 1.7 rockers. 7/16 Chromoly pushrods, .300 tall direct oiling roller lifters and custom ground 4 -7 swap hyd roller camshafts, Factory intakes heavily ported and fuel rails modified w/new injectors. Every part was painted in black epoxy and both engines were outfitted with Hardin Marine Billet aluminum pulley’s. Aeromotive 1000 fuel pumps & regulators supply the 89 octane fuel while the CMI Stainless Marine through hull exhaust supply the noise.

Raw water inlet hoses & water necks were replaced in Spring on 2022...Installed Hardin Marine Stainless kits. Boat carries 5 psi water pressure at idle and 15 -16 psi cruising at 50 mph.

New Mercury XR 1.5 Drives w/showers installed in 2015 w/ 207 hrs and swing custom lab finished Bravo one 28 pitch 4-blade props by B-Blades in 2017 which brings this Scarab to a cruising speed of 50 mph and a top speed of 80 mph.

Boat has full factory interior w/snap in carpet, drop out bolster front seats, v-berth sleeps 2 with plenty of room, sink, pump out or removable toilet, led lighting, mirrored storage, JL Audio stereo system w/10 speakers, two 10” subs, Jl 900 amp, Kenwood head unit w/ 2 remote control units, GPS recall speedometer, Full gauge set up with Autometer, Livorsi and Gaffrig gauges w/teal bezels through out, Hrs meters and depth gauge at helm, stainless grab bars and cup holders throughout, transom led under water lighting, powder coated swim platform, K-planes and 2 new blue top batteries in 2018...Direct water flush kit, fresh water shower w/ 6 gallon storage tank and a 150 gallon fuel storage tank. Full black Sunbrella cockpit, rear swimpad and bow covers, 4 teal covered fenders, teal ropes, 2 anchors, life jackets, throw cushion w/50 ft rope and required safety items...

Boat sits on 2005 Aluminum Loadmaster triple axle trailer w/surge brakes, 6 new tires in 2024...wheels in 2018 w/2 spares, power winch w/ Bluetop battery in front storage box, led lights, v-bow stop, roller loading guides in rear and carpeted bunks…

Boat and trailer come with a 11 year complete history, factory owners manual and dealer brochure from 1998, complete list of maintenance records, engine built specs, pictures of the engine builds from start to finish, Some spare parts, documented parts list and part numbers, dyno sheet and all receipts for anything that has been purchased for this boat. Also comes with Mercruiser Mefi 1 Rinda Scan Tool in case, Jabsco oil changer pump and Scarab Jacket.
