Description
The Carolina Classic is arguably the best built and best riding sportfish boat in her size class! With her deep-V hull with a 24 degree deadrise, her seakeeping abilities are indeed nothing less than phenomenal.. Construction is solid fiberglass, and her wide 10'6" beam results in a very roomy cockpit. In spite of the fact that she’s a dedicated fish-boat, the 28 has a surprisingly complete cabin below with a big V-berth, stand-up head with shower, compact galley, air-conditioning, and teak-framed joinery. The engines are very accessible—the entire bridge deck can be raised on a pair of hydraulic rams at the push of a button. The cockpit has plenty of room for a mounted chair and includes a pair of in-deck fish boxes, rod holders, transom live-well, tackle center with sink, and fresh- and saltwater wash-downs. Additional features include side-dumping exhausts, wide side decks, high gunwales, and a well-arranged helm with room for flush-mounted electronics.
She is powered with twin 250hp Cummins 4BTA's diesel engines, which are very economical to run and will provide a cruise speed of around 25 knots. Engines are reported to only have around 1,100 original hours. The starboard engine was recently rebuilt in 2023 due to low oil pressure and has approximately 10 hours since rebuild.
Following are the repairs and maintenance that have been recently completed:
Recent oil changes in both mains, as well as new oil filters, both transmissions serviced, new secondary fuel filters, new Racor primary filters and new zincs (2024). Both after-coolers and both heat exchangers were ultrasonically cleaned (2021). All new batteries and new sea water pump impellers and starboard engine new mechanical seal (2022). Port engine new alternator, starboard new starter, new sea water pickup hoses and all new hoses on mains (2023). New engine room insulation and engine room LED lighting (2023).
Seller reports that the engine room took on water in 2021 and reports that the water was just over the oil pans, however no water was inside the engines. There was some water in the transmissions. The engines & transmissions were removed from the boat and all was serviced.
Truly a must see!
Reasonably priced and all serious offers will be considered!

Manufacturer Provided Description
The 28 is a machine totally designed and precisely built for one purpose: Offshore trophy fishing. Because fishing conditions vary, we offer a combination of twin engine power and drive choices. Gas or diesel. Conventional inboard or jack shaft to sterndrive. And long-range fuel capacity for all. Plenty of living room, too. A cabin with six feet of head room. V-berth with filler. Galley with microwave, sink, refrigerator and table. Full walk-in electric head with shower. And storage areas throughout. Best of all is how easy she is to maintain. The dry, oversized engine compartment provides roomy access to the hydraulics, generator, pumps and batteries. The bilge runs in a tunnel underneath the gel-coated engine room, so all vital mechanics stay dry and clean. The air intakes are high above the sheer to keep corrosive salt spray out. Even the cabin walls are finished gel so they can be easily cleaned and kept free of mildew. The 28 is complete. There's a very short "extras" list.
