Description
2002 Regal 3880 Commodore
Regal’s only flybridge yacht, the 3880 Commodore, was a notable departure from the company’s 30-year history of producing family runabouts and express cruisers. In the mid 1990s, the sporty styling of the Commodore would have been striking; today it’s pretty much the norm for mid-range flybridge yachts. The high side decks of the 3880 may not add much to her appearance, but they allow for a full-beam salon with the dimensions of a much larger boat. The galley is down, opposite a small guest stateroom that extends under the salon. Hatches in the salon sole lift to reveal deep storage bins, and a bar counter divides the salon from the galley. Topside, the Commodore’s flybridge is big for a boat this size with seating for six and a double sun pad aft. Additional features include cockpit engineroom access, foredeck sun pads, molded flybridge steps, and a foldout cockpit seat. Note the overhead cockpit storage in the flybridge overhang. Gas 370hp V-drive engines cruise at 20 knots.

Manufacturer Provided Description
The Regal Commodore 3880 has an innovative sedan bridge design that uses the full breadth of its 13-foot beam belowdecks. This provides six feet, five inches of headroom throughout the entire salon and creates not just the appearance of but the actual interior space of a yacht of substantially larger size. The helm features a tilt stainless steel steering wheel, aluminum dash panel, and easy-to-access switches and gauges. A Raymarine depth finder GPS / Chartplotter and VHF are standard. An optional Raymarine 10-inch color chart plotter and radar are available as well as autopilot. The bridge is accessed via extra wide, molded-in fiberglass steps, made safer with a stainless steel handrail. Down below, the midcabin has its own privacy door and features two twin berths that convert to a queen with a centered padded insert. The head features a Corian vanity, mirrored overhead cabinetry, a standup circular shower stall with swivel door, and an electric head. The galley features Corian countertops with a hidden two-burner stove, a coffee maker, and a microwave, all standard. A refrigerator / freezer is also standard. Entrance to the forward stateroom is gained through the galley via a sliding hardwood pocket door. The dinette and salon are complemented by two overstuffed barrel chairs and an entertainment center featuring a 20-inch TV / VCR. An extra-wide stairway provides access from the cabin to the cockpit. The beautiful wrap-around dinette features a hi-lo table with Corian trim. The table drops to convert the dinette to a queen-size berth. The forward stateroom is graced with a queen-sized island berth. The mattress is a real spring mattress and there are two hanging lockers, plus an entertainment center featuring a TV / VCR combo. Drawer storage and a deep storage locker are located beneath the island berth.
