2002 Tigé 22i Type-R

The Tigé 22i Type R combines the nimble handling and performance of a direct-drive inboard with world-class wakeboarding characteristics normally associated with the finest V-drive riding machine. The interior has been designed specifically for the rider lifestyle, maximizing space to comfortably seat a large group - up to 12 people. Seating is arranged to optimize weight distribution and spectator comfort. Side seating will accommodate two adults for two-way viewing. The step-down bow features a unique reclining filled nose allowing two people to sit facing backwards to watch riders. One adult or two kids can take in the action from a rear-facing seat integrated into the engine-box. A step-through fiberglass transom allows riders access to the swim-step without climbing over a rear locker or stepping on the rear seat. The 22i Type R is also the first direct-drive to incorporate twin board storage lockers with gull-wing hatches. The two lockers will hold four wakeboards plus gear without affecting access to the swim platform. Superior structural rigidity and construction provide a safe, solid ride through rough water or double-ups. World-class boarding wakes are perfectly symmetrical and can be further dialed in using Tigé's TAPS variable hull technology. Double- and triple-ups are silky smooth due to the true V bottom design incorporating a 30 degree entry and a 13 degree deadrise at the transom. When more passenger weight is moved aft, wakes grow dramatically but remain clean and symmetrical, due to an exaggerated rocker design integrated into the wetted surface. Resetting TAPS tones down the wakes for kids and beginners and also creates exceptionally clean slalom wakes. Handling is nimble and precise with flat, quick turns that are true to the mid-engine configuration. Bow rise is nonexistent. The 22i Type R also features a high bow designed to eliminate wake-crossing splashes at both double-up speeds or at idle.
