The hull mold for the Seguin 52 was created directly from Sparkman & Stephens 3 dimensional surface model of the hull with a 5-axis CNC mill to an accuracy of ±0.005 inches (0.1 mm) resulting in the fairest hull possible. The hull was infused with vinylester resin under a vacuum using state-of-the-art SCRIMP technology providing a high quality, high strength, low weight laminate. The topsides were painted AwlGrip Majestic Blue in 2016 with a gold cove stripe and double white boot-top with green bottom. All exterior brightwork maintained annually.
The interior is laid out to be spacious, bright and efficient. As you enter the cabin from the companionway stairs (refinished in 2021) there is a day head to starboard and a guest cabin with a large double berth to port. As you progress forward the well-appointed galley is to starboard with plenty of storage and counter space. Across from the galley, forward of the guest stateroom is a wet locker and bench for putting on your foul weather boots.
Just forward of this is a forward facing navigation station with all of the navigation instruments nicely placed in front of the navigator. Past the chart table and down two steps into the main salon, there is a large dining table to starboard with a 6'8" settee outboard and a 4' settee to port with end tables at either end. On the forward bulkhead of the salon is a Luke stove and large bookcase. Custom wine rack and bookcase in beveled glass lockers are outboard and opposite to port and starboard just aft of the main bulkhead. Outboard on either side of there are pilot berths. There are round portllights in the hull on either side and the large butterfly hatch overhead affords more natural light and natural ventilation when desired. The inside of the hull and the overhead are white and the other walls and cabinets are bright finished mahogany. The floor is maple with mahogany trim (newly refinished and varnished in 2022) and all new custom interior upholstery was done by S&S fabrics in 2017. The entire interior is fully air conditioned. Moving forward of the salon and into the owners cabin, there is a small office area and writing desk flanked by hanging lockers outboard to port. The sleeping area includes a queen-size berth to starboard with several drawers underneath and many storage lockers out board. The large head with a separate stall shower is forward.

The Seguin 52 rig is designed for easy handling. Instead of a large overlapping genoa, the sail plan was designed around a smaller 125% overlapping genoa for easy tacking and reduced sheet loads. The shape of the efficient high aspect ratio main is easily controlled with a hydraulic backstay, outhaul and vang. For off-wind sailing the boat carries an asymmetric spinnaker. The mast is carbon fiber for increased stability and reduced pitching in a sea. The standing rigging is discontinuous solid stainless steel rod. While not required for normal sailing, in heavy weather running backstays provide additional support. Carbon Leisurefurl in-boom mainsail furling makes handling the mainsail a very easy task.
