As you step aboard this vessel you’ll immediately notice the spacious swim platform equipped with a storage box aft. The deck is covered in SeaDek foam flooring, providing comfort and keeping your feet cool as you enjoy the open water. This upgrade alone cost $8,000, complemented by a $5,000 polish job, and new caulking around the vessel’s perimeter.
As we ascend the elegantly curved staircase, we enter the cockpit, which is also fitted with custom colored SeaDek. Here, you’ll find a well appointed kitchenette with trash cupboard and refrigerator. The cockpit offers seating12 guests, with companion seats next to the captain at the helm.
The helm itself has been upgraded for modern convenience by removing some of the outdated electronics. The original navigation has been replaced with a sleek iPad interface. The outdated dash panels have been replaced by custom fabricated carbon fiber, and the steering wheel has been upgraded to match. Taking command, you’ll appreciate the addition of bow thrusters , as well as a custom hydraulic steering with remote control. At trolling speeds, you can comfortably steer the boat remotely while entertaining guests on the bow. The spotlight, trim tab controls, and Mercury SmartCraft monitoring system are all in perfect working order, keeping you fully informed of engine activity. For added convenience, a custom power outlet and fully operational control panel are located to the right of the helm. Even the cupholders have been upgraded to accommodate larger Yeti-style barware.
Speaking of engines, this yacht is powered by twin 8.1L high-output MerCruiser engines with straight driveshafts. These engines have undergone a complete fuel system overhaul, including injectors, high-pressure and low-pressure fuel pumps, filters, and vents. The fuel lines and rails have been cleaned and reinstalled. Regular maintenance has been performed yearly including oil changes, impellers, and fuel filters. One engine’s PCM was replaced at 600 hours (which reset the hour meter), while the other boasts 875 hours on its original PCM.
This yacht features a JL Audio sound system with power amps and a subwoofer, although it requires minor adjustments to bring it up to full potential. A new Clarion head unit has been installed, and all components are functional.
Moving to the exterior, the 405 features catwalks leading to a spacious bow, complete with new fenders and an upgraded air horn. The sun pad is ideal for relaxing on warm summer days or a cool fall evening. Heading back into the cockpit, you’ll notice full-height acrylic hinged doors to both port and starboard, enhancing the aesthetic and practical appeal.
Exiting the cockpit into the salon, where the galley is starboard, offering ample cabinet space and a new stainless steel convection oven/microwave combination. The polished granite countertops pair beautifully with the stainless steel sink and new stainless steel faucet. An induction cooktop has been installed, replacing the older model, reducing heat and speeding up cooking time. The midsize refrigerator featuring a midsize freezer above has been upgraded with stainless steel doors, offering plenty of space for extended trips.
Also to starboard and forward, the dinette provides additional storage beneath both seats, with a cherrywood table matching the rest of the wood accents throughout the vessel. An incredibly comfortable and full-length sofa to port features two pull-out recliners. Looking aft, the control panel houses breakers for 240V/120V electricity and 12V power with one 50amp service. This vessels is equipped with two battery chargers keeping both the starting and house batteries fully charged. The control panel also houses controls for a well-maintained 10k generator with 2,600 hours ensuring adequate power for all your needs. The salon is cooled by two brand-new Marinaire AC units. A 24,000 BTU unit forward is the primary air conditioner for the salon and provides auxiliary air conditioning to the forward VIP. The aft cabin is cooled by a 16,000 BTU unit which provides auxiliary air-conditioning to the salon. Coupled with the forward sunscreen and window dressings both port and starboard, the vessel will maintain a comfortable temperature on the hottest days.
Descending the stairwell into the aft cabin, you’ll find ample storage and full-height cabinets to port. This cabin features a queen-size bed with nightstand drawers on either side, as well as a custom installed laundry chute. The head is equipped with a fully overhauled vacuflush system, a newly installed bidet, and a spacious shower designed to accommodate even the most well built guests. The cabin also includes a 40-inch smart TV and plenty of additional storage to starboard.
Making our way back through the salon, the forward VIP is equally as luxurious, with a queen-size bed, upgraded DVD television, and substantial storage to both port and starboard. The en-suite restroom accommodations feature a large shower to port and a full head starboard. The Vacuflush system forward is currently in need of repair.
Exiting aft and circling the vessel, you’ll notice the fresh polishing, re-caulking, and the removal of old pinstriping. Both port and starboard sides sport updated chrome Cruisers Yachts emblems as well. While the boat is in surperb condition, a bottom job with ablative paint would complement the previous owner’s epoxy bottom.
