Description
NUI KOA is a highly upgraded and race winning Flying Tiger-10.
She is fast, fun, ultra light and easily handled by a crew of 2-4 and capable of speeds of 20+ knots!!!
Whether racing or cruising, Whether it's coastal or offshore, Nui Koa is a winner and a dream to sail. She is stable, responsive and a rocket off wind! Easily launched from a boat ramp or hoist at your local yacht club from her included trailer.
The suggested modifications from both racers and cruisers alike have all been completed with the goal of competing this summer in:
1) Trans Lake Tahoe race
2) Whidbey Island Race Week
3) Port Townsend to Ketchikan, Alaska (R2AK)
The Modifications:
1) Custom deep betts rudder with carbon fiber tiller and gudgeon for stability and fingertip control. She is super balanced and strong
2) Carbon mast, boom, and retractable sprint pole painted with Pettit epoxy paint to protect the carbon
3) Engine box was enlarged to accommodate repairs and lowering/raising the outboard
4) Engine wiring condensed into a wire harness for ease of engine removal
5) Engine trap door was perfected for raising and lowering engine as well as fitting a cover to the bottom of hull
6) The bottom was just long boarded and 2 coats of Pettit Vivid bottom paint applied
7) Keel step base for the mast was re-enforced with thick G-10 at the base
8) Deck & topside gel coat was just professionally touched up
9) Interior freshly painted
10) All required US Coast Guard safety gear replaced in 2024
The Flying Tiger FT-10 was designed by Robert Perry and built by Flying Tiber Boats, LLC. Built as an affordable club racer for those that want to race on a budget plan. She is super competitive with high end yachts at a fraction of the cost.
She is fitted with a Newer Facnor roller furling and head stay.as well as the original as back up.
A lines are run aft for ease of single handling. Turning blocks are fitted next to the cabin to allow cross sheeting from the windward side while racing. Custom cushions have been built to sleep 2 forward, 2 amidship, and 2 in quarter berths - totaling 6.
She is great for family. There is a dockside custom boat cover.
She is ISAF Coastal Race Compliant.
Step aboard, personalize her, load her on the trailer and go!!
