Halayah has 3 cabins: one en-suite aft with a queen size twin bed, one full-size pullman berth foreward with an en-suite head, and the main cabin with a full-size berth.
Halayah has exceptionally maintained mechanical equipment. Everything is rebuilt by the owner annuallly and/or serviced professionally. Starting at the bow, the powered windlass easily manages the ~200 ft of chain and upgraded Rocna anchor plus the added ~100 ft of rode. The anchor system is augmented with a float-buoy for easy anchor location confirmation and to help avoid other boaters' anchoring across your rode.
Moving stern, a loud-hailer allows for navigation in the fog (it is connected to the new Standard Horizon VHF), kayak racks, and plentiful handholds and well-maintained safety lines.
In cockpit, Halayah sports three powered winches including two primaries port/starboard for the jib, and a secondary forward for the main. Her twin helms and associated running gear add to the cockpits usability and alllow for easy single-handing.
Further stern, Halayah's former owners installed a full davit system for the dinghy, solar panels, a hoist for easy launching and retrieval of the 9 HP outboard (rebuilt in 2023), rail mounted BBQ, and stern-entry/exit with a nearby hot/cold shower.
The well-appointed galley has a 3-burner propane stove and oven (twin propane tanks in the rear provide fuel), refrigerator, freezer, microwave/coffee maker, forced-air dish dryer, twin basin sink, and ample storage for supplies and kitchen tools.
In 2020, Halayah's running rigging was upgraded with dinema halyards, new vang and outhaul, traveler, and dinghy davit lines. Her remaining lines are cleaned and maintained annually and she sports a Seldon B&R double spreader rig with swept back spreaders, in mast furling with vertical battens, a 110% jib and roller furler for easy handling, rigid boomvang, a stainless steel arch for end boom sheeting, Harken traveller, and 925 sq ft of sail area.
Halayah also includes a cockpit controlled bow thruster.
The prior owners installed Inverson canvas on her including panels that completely enclose the cockpit allowing for comfortable, heated cruising year-round regardless of the conditions. Customer cockpit cushions ensure that you and your guests will be comfortable while relaxing or while underway.
Additional equipment includes a wireless RAM mic that allows for flexibility in using the VHF, a secondary (backup) VHF, new engine hours meter, knot and depth meters, five Raymarine ST70 displays (three mounted above the companion way, and one at each nav station), safety throw-bag, emergency tiller, and ample lazarette storage.
Halayah's engine is a 75 HP (upgraded) Yanmar diesel that is maintained annually by Auxiliary Diesel in Seattle. She performs flawlessly and is nearly maintenance free. Her easily accessible oil, cooland, and fuel filters make maintenance a snap. She also has a Oil Exchanger system that allows for easy removal and refilling of oil. Her systems are powered by 3 gel cel batts for the housebank and an isolated starter batt.
Finally, Halayah has a new dripless shaft seal (2023) which was not standard equipment on the Hunter 45 DS.
Halayah's electronics were upgraded by the prior owner and augmented in 2020. This includes twin Raymarine MFDs including a 12 inch Axiom display in the cockpit and a 9 inch Axiom at the nav-station. The Axioms are connected to the Raymarine autohelm allowing for auto routing to follow preset routes, a wireless autohelm controller, and an added SD card reader for ease of updating the network software and charts (thus saving the owner from having to remove an MFD from it's mount to access the SD card reader in the rear of the unit).
Finally, Halayah also includes a Raymarine Radar (display integrated into the Axiom MFDs) that can overlay radar and navigation data in one display.
We are the kind of owners you want to buy from as we are both hard-wired to maintain and document things to the nth degree. You will find that every system has been either replaced, upgraded, or asiduously maintained to ensure that it operates flawlessly and in some cases has a backup (e.g., we have both a new Standard Horizon VHF and a handheld backup).
Additional equipment (moving fore to aft) includes upgraded low-wattange LED lights in the forepeak and pullman, TV with ROKU, Bose stereo system with sub woofer, integrated vacuum system, hot water system that works from engine heating and/or AC, easily accessible 12 and 120 breaker panels, fully integrated solar charging system with new Victron battery monitor system, new tank monitor system (for holding and water tanks), new AIS transmitters, upgraded/new VHF antenna, upgraded NMEA cabling and interconnects, added 12 v/USB ports throughout, and new thermostats.
Each head has a full shower, quite-flush toilets, and ample space. The galley sports Corian countertops, updraded lighting, and tremendous below-deck storage. In the winter, you will stay toasty warm from two aft-mounted diesel fueled forced air heaters. The aft cabin heater was rebuilt in 2021 and the main and pullman cabin's heater was upgraded/replaced in 2021. In addition, the air intake for both heaters was rerouted from the stern lazarette to dedicted fresh-air intakes to ensure that the heated air was scent free.
All fire extuinguishers were replaced in 2023. The fire supression system in the engine compartment was re-certified in 2023, and new smoke and CO2 detectors were installed at the same time. In addition, to monitor for humidity, temperature/humidity gauges were added in the fore and aft cabins.
In the aft and aft-cabin, you will find ample storage, four windows for fresh air, and a remarkably comfortable bed (upgraded by the prior owners).
Finally, we have documentation on every element of our loving care of Halayah over the last four years. You will find logs for cruisting, maintenance, and receipts/documentation for every item purchased and installed. While some work was performed by the owners, substantially complex engine or electrical work was performed by licensed professionals. The bilge is bone-dry and spotless as are all of the surfaces.
