Description
"Sea Salt" is a rare find, and is a "Hard Back" Back Cove in exceptional condition with extremely low engine hours of just 190. With a cruising speed of 21kts and maximum speed of 28 kts, boaters have a significant range, making Sea Salt a perfect boat for cruising, and exploring.
New bottom paint, prop speed and a buff and wax of her topsides was completed in October 2023. This Back Cove is cruise ready.
Equipped with all necessities for extended periods onboard, this Back Cove features a Kohler Generator, air conditioning, full galley, centerline Queen berth, hot and cold water, and full electronics suite. The electronics package includes Garmin 7212 multifunction display & GPS, Garmin GMR 18 XHD radar, Garmin GHC 20 autopilot, Garmin GHC 21 digital compass, Garmin VHF 200, and Cummins smart craft display, all fully accessible at the helm. Idyllic for cruising and weekending, this Back Cove is capable of much more, and Sea Salt's accommodations would be perfect for a couple looking to do the loop and spending extended time onboard.
Access to the accommodations is through a large, sliding door, providing great protection from the elements. Stepping onboard, the saloon area features a large dinette table with crafted decorate inlay which can comfortably seat four on the over-padded seating. The dinette can be converted in conjunction with the copilot's seat to create a double berth enclosed with aft privacy and blackout curtains. Opposite the dinette is an extensive galley including an electric two-burner cooktop, combination microwave / convection oven, large sink, countertop, and Isotherm fridge / freezer unit. A second Isotherm unit and a separate icemaker are found below the dinette and copilot seat, making beverage access at sea a breeze. Entertainment includes a TV is mounted on the countertop, and Fusion stereo system with speakers.
At the helm, the captain has a large, fully cushioned helm chair, and fantastic visibility through the oversized windshield equipped with wiper system. In addition to the full electronics package, the captain benefits from bow and stern thruster systems, Seastar hydraulic steering, and electric actuated trim tabs with helm control. A separate forward facing copilot seat on the portside can easily seat two. Comfort aboard is guaranteed with 3 reverse cycle air conditioning units, the large sliding saloon door to the cockpit, and large central opening hatch in the windshield.
Below the companionway steps, the accommodations are exquisite. A large centerline berth with custom bedcover is rear facing with abundant storage below and to both sides. An owner's TV is visible from the berth. On the port side is an L shaped settee with private varnished table, and the electrical panel viewable above. The heads are electric and complemented by a large bason, mirror, and separate shower stall. The impression is of a well-appointed, floating condo.
The rear cockpit is spacious and complimented by full foam seat cushions. On deck, wide weather decks allow easy access to the cabin top, bow, and windlass, with a large space for sunbathing.
Engine date is readily available at the helm with the Cummins smart craft display. Both the engine and the Generator are equipped with a fresh water flush system and automatic Fireboy extinguisher system.

Our goal for the Back Cove 34 was to create a cruising yacht with the same simple features, usability and maintenance that have built the popularity of the Back Cove brand. With input from many of our current boat owners, we have created a yacht which offers tremendous value, great style and modern practicality.
Below deck is found a large and comfortable island berth and a convertible L-settee which can be isolated from the cabin with a curtain. To starboard a large head with separate stall shower. On the helm deck, a full galley stretches out aft of the helm seat and to port, a dinette that can seat four adults in complete comfort, is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal on board. Her inlaid table is a fine example of the Maine boat builder’s craftsmanship and tradition, evident throughout the Back Cove 34.
Forward of the dinette, a double mate’s seat is a comfortable perch for the navigator. The helm deck is airy and bright with overhead pilot hatches, opening side windows and a center opening windshield. A Stidd helm chair provides comfort for the helmsman underway.
In her cockpit a large, L-shaped bench seat and a fold-away aft facing seat provide comfortable lounging spots while underway or when anchored in a peaceful cove. Engine access is extraordinary, as the helm deck, including the port side dinette, lifts hydraulically to expose the yacht’s mechanical systems below.
