The interior of the 42 provides Lagoon’s trademark light, bright and contemporary design. The huge salon offers panoramic views of the exterior along with a comfortable dinette, nav station and large galley. The practical U-shaped galley extends out on either side of a large sliding glass window that conveniently opens to the cockpit. Great storage, appliances, natural ventilation and fantastic views make cooking in this galley a pleasure.
The entire starboard hull contains a luxurious owner’s suite with a queen-sized berth, separate office/make-up area, ensuite head with separate shower and abundant storage. The port hull has two guest cabins, each with their own private head.
The cockpit of the 42 extends the interior living space by offering a large, covered terrace on the same level as the salon. Protected but airy, the cockpit simply invites you to relax. There is a large table that can sit eight to ten guests. The helm is well-separated from the cockpit yet remains accessible at all times. The swim platform is only a mere couple of steps down.

The Lagoon 42 benefits from a rig set more centrally, a formula with advantages validated by her bigger sisters. The larger foretriangle makes it possible to juggle between the big, self-tacking jib and the downwind sails. Because of the high aspect ratio of the mainsail, the size of the boom is shorter. It provides performance and maneuverability, while weight-centering limits pitch. From the helm, the unobstructed view and easy accessibility to all lines offers great control, even when sailing short-handed.
